What makes a job a good job?

Surveys focus on elements like pay, benefits, opportunity, flexibility, work environment, or company mission.

But in this eletter to the lean community, LEI Executive Chairman John Shook takes the focal point to a more fundamental level, contending that good jobs start with good work.

“A job is made up of that most fundamental of lean concerns … the work,” Shook writes. “What is the work to be done to create the value?”
