Registration for the 5th Annual Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit is Open

February 27, 2014

Lean healthcare leaders can register for the upcoming Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit in Los Angeles on June 4-5, 2014. The Summit, sponsored by the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value and the Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI), offers leaders the opportunity to learn about improvements in delivery, payment, and transparency from organizations and individuals that are making real change in the industry. The Summit is designed to bring nurses, physicians, administrators, senior leadership and any other healthcare professional that want to be involved in transforming healthcare together to learn and share.

John Toussaint, MD, founder and CEO of the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, CEO emeritus of ThedaCare, and author of “Potent Medicine”and “On the Mend” will deliver a keynote address that will discuss the interconnectedness of the three facets of healthcare transformation: care delivery redesign, payment reform and transparency.

Kim Barnas, Senior Vice President of ThedaCare, President of Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center, and author of the soon-to-be-released book “Beyond Heroes,” will deliver a keynote on the need for and the elements of a lean management system in healthcare.

Other keynote speakers will include Patrick Conway, MD, Deputy Administrator for Innovation and Quality & Chief Medical Officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and John Shook, the Chairman and CEO of the Lean Enterprise Institute.

The Summit will offer eight different learning sessions each day; each with a more in- depth focus on the individual components of healthcare reform. Network members from the Healthcare Value Network and the Clinical Business Intelligence Network will be featured, along with learning sessions on accountable care organizations, payment experiments, and research centers. There will also be a CEO panel, hosted by author Mark Graban, which will  provide attendees the opportunity to ask questions of three CEOs; the panel will be comprised of Kathryn Correia, President and CEO of HealthEast, Maura Davies, President and CEO of Saskatoon Health Region, and Laura Easton, President and CEO at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

Attendance for the Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit is capped at 600. To register, call LEI at 617-871-2900 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST or visit: https://www.lean.org/Events/2014_lean_hc_transformation_summit.cfm
